OsmAnd Maps & Navigation is an offline GPS navigation app that works anywhere without a data connection. Built on OpenStreetMap data, it lets you plan routes, navigate by voice, and explore the world on your own terms—all while keeping your location data completely private.

Navigate with full control over your route. Choose from vehicle-specific profiles including cars, motorcycles, bicycles, 4x4, pedestrians, boats, and public transport. Customize your path by excluding specific roads or surfaces, and adjust navigation widgets to show distance, speed, remaining time, and turn-by-turn guidance. Multiple map styles adapt to your activity: touring view, nautical charts, winter and ski maps, topographic, desert, and off-road variants. Overlay different map sources or enable shading relief and contour lines for detailed terrain insight.

Record and plan your journeys with precision. Capture GPX tracks as you travel, then review elevation profiles showing ascents and descents. Build routes point by point using one or multiple profiles, or import and manage existing tracks. Visual route data helps you understand the terrain ahead. Share your recorded routes with the OpenStreetMap community or keep them private—you decide.

Mark important locations and add context. Create favorites, place markers, and attach audio or video notes to spots on the map. Search by address, name, coordinates, or category to find attractions, food, health services, and thousands of other point-of-interest types. Update maps automatically with fresh data from OpenStreetMap, refreshed up to once per hour.

Maps+ unlocks advanced features: unlimited map downloads, topo data with contour lines and terrain shading, nautical depths for water navigation, offline Wikipedia articles, and Wikivoyage travel guides. OsmAnd Pro subscribers gain cloud backup and cross-platform sync, weather overlays, elevation widgets, external sensor support via ANT+ and Bluetooth, and online elevation profiles.

The app includes a compass, radius ruler, Mapillary photo browser, night theme for low-light use, and access to a large global community offering documentation and real-world support.
